LAMF 2013 Daniel Worsham photoDan is a freelance horn player in the Chicago area and has a degree in music performance from the University of Minnesota.  While completing his degree he studied under the Minnesota Orchestra’s Michael C. Gast and Caroline Lemen.

Mr. Worsham enjoys playing any or all positions in the horn section and his most memorable performance so far is playing principal on Schumann’s Konzertstuck for 4 horns and Orchestra.  Dan plays with small ensembles and orchestras throughout the Chicago and Wisconsin and will find any excuse to play chamber music.  Dan also was the horn teacher for the 2014 Wisconsin Ambassadors of Music, European Tour.  The group consisted of over 200 students and he enjoyed preparing the group for performances in 6 countries.

Mr. Worsham is also a published composer, arranger and transcriber.  His pieces for wind instruments have been played by many ensembles around the country. Dan also enjoys writing and producing hip-hop instrumentals under the name Dando for Grid11, TYMY and the Institute of Production and Recording in Minneapolis.

In September, Dan will be moving to Bosnia-Herzegovina to take a position as 2nd horn of the Sarajevo Philharmonic for the 2014-2015 season.  He is both excited and nervous for the move.
