How do you pull this off without admission fees or ticket sales? The planning and organization of the Festival depends to a great degree on the volunteer time of more than 70 people from hosting musicians in their homes or guest cottages, to preparing food for meals or receptions, driving musicians to and from the Minneapolis airport, designing posters and the Festival Program, maintaining this web-site, soliciting donations from businesses and individuals, writing press releases, ushering, and a myriad of other tasks. Approximately 20% of our expenses are covered by grants, 55% from business and individual sponsorships and advertisements, and 25% from a free-will offering we collect after concerts.

What are your greatest needs? We need volunteers who are skilled in graphics design, web design, grant-writing, promotions, and the organizational needs of a growing non-for-profit organization. We need volunteers who can make available an extra bedroom or guest cottage/home for up to two weeks in August for a visiting musician(and their families, on occasion). Drivers to the Minneapolis airport are always needed since the extra airfare to the Brainerd Airport is beyond our current budget. We can compensate you for the gas, but not for your time or wear-and-tear on your vehicle!
