Lydia Sadoff, clarinet
Lydia Sadoff, 16, started clarinet lessons at the age of 6 at East Metro Music Academy in St Paul, MN, with teachers Jennifer Anderson and Ben Mills. She currently takes lessons from Rena Kraut at the Saint Paul Conservatory of Music. Lydia has been a member of the Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies (GTCYS) since 2006. She will be a junior in the fall at St Paul Central High School, where she is a member of the band and orchestra under the direction of Matt Oyen. Lydia placed second in the Junior High Winds division of the Thursday Musical Young Artists Competition in 2010 and placed first in 2011. She was a finalist in the GTCYS Concerto Competition in 2010 and 2011. She won 2nd place in the instrumental division of the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra Rising Stars Concerto Competition in 2012. In addition to her clarinet activities, Lydia enjoys theater, bicycling, horseback riding, and all things French.
